End of summer

The summer holidays are over and my boys are back in school. A lot has happened since I was last here. At the beginning of summer, I lost my blogging motivation altogether. I even hardly picked up my camera anymore. My husband was having serious back problems and was in a lot of pain. After  examination in the hospital, it turned out he had a hernia and needed surgery.

I was worried.

Urban Jungle Bloggers: Jungle Animals

This month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers edition is all about the cohabitation between our jungle plants and our jungle animals. A funny coincidence, because our cat already made his appearance in last month’s Urban Jungle bloggers post. I love plants, I love our cat and our cat loves plants also, so this seemed like the perfect (some people might say purrfect…) blog post topic for me.

Urban Jungle Bloggers: Kitchen Greens

Happy New Year! It’s not too late to wish you a happy New Year, is it? I hope you enjoyed the holidays and made a good start into the new year. Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? How are you holding up? I always make many, nothing to do with quitting smoking or losing weight, though. My New Year’s resolutions are all about learning and finding inspiration. Urban Jungle Bloggers: Plants & Art

I have a confession to make. I’m not very good with houseplants. It’s not that I can’t keep them alive, they are not dying, but they aren’t exactly thriving either. I always forget to water my plants, but luckily, most plants like to have the soil dry out a bit before being watered again. Apparently, most people are deathly afraid of under-watering their plants and tend to over-water! Continue reading Urban Jungle Bloggers: Plants & Art

What I love about blogging

The lovely Bex kindly nominated me for a Liebster Award. If you haven’t heard of it before, the Liebster Award is passed around the blogging community to new or smaller bloggers. It’s simply a way of getting to know each other a little better. Because I loved reading Bex’s post, I thought I’d take up the challenge.

Bex and I met through a wonderful online photography course by Emily Quinton we took together. We learned about composition, finding the light and all the technical stuff. We shared and commented on each other’s pictures and it was so much fun! I can highly recommend it to any flower lover who wants to take better pictures.
