Hello there! Itâs February and almost Valentine’s day. Do you celebrate Valentine’s day or do you just skip it? To me, Valentine’s day is not a big deal, I won’t be disappointed when I don’t get diamonds or red roses. But it is the day I started my blog two years ago! I like to keep up the tradition and write a Valentine’s day blog post every year. This year, I kept it simple and created dried hydrangea hearts. Best flowers for Valentine’s Day besides roses

My Linzertorte recipe was the first post I wrote. One of the things I love most about blogging is reading your comments on a post. Some of you actually baked the cake and loved it. It was so nice to hear!

The way to a man’s heart…
Lots of people donât like Valentineâs day because they consider it a commercial holiday. They donât need a special day to show their love – they do that every day! Perhaps they just donât like sugar-coated cards and pink hearts. But you donât have to buy champagne, red roses or heart-shaped chocolate (you certainly can if you want to!). Try simply doing something nice. Send a friend a sweet and thoughtful card or make your husband his favourite food.
My husbandâs favourite cake is a Linzertorte and he often makes it himself. There is no better way to show my love than to make him just that cake! My husbandâs family is German and this is an old family recipe. It is named after the Austrian city of Linz. There are lots of variations, but we always make it with hazelnuts and raspberry jam.
